The BPD FOIA Command Center is an internal tool designed to streamline the management and adjudication of public records requests for Boston Police Department investigators. It centralizes all inbound FOIA requests, allowing investigators to efficiently handle diverse record types including bodycam footage, 911 audio, arrest records, and court documents. Leveraging AI for automatic transcription of audio and video, the platform also provides robust redaction capabilities with granular permissions. Investigators can utilize AI Search with vector database indexing to chat with their data, access a memory cache of previous requests, and auto-generate comprehensive responses to requestors, ensuring transparency and compliance while maintaining a detailed audit trail of all actions and redactions.
